Applies to MeowSort on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
MeowSort: Cat Sort Puzzle (“the App”) is a cozy cat-sorting puzzle game.
This policy explains what information the App and its service providers handle, why, and the
choices you have. In short: there is no account and we never ask for your name or email.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to learn how the game is played so we can improve it, and
Google AdMob shows ads on iPhone and iPad.
1. Game progress on your device and in your iCloud
Game progress, unlocked levels, stars, coins, hints, lives, sound and language preferences
are stored on your device.
If you are signed in to iCloud, your stars, coins, hints, current level and tutorial status
are also kept in your own iCloud account so they follow you between your iPhone, iPad and
Apple TV. This uses Apple’s iCloud storage; we cannot see or access it.
Deleting the App removes the data on that device. Data in iCloud can be removed from your
device’s iCloud settings.
2. Game analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how players experience the game (for example, which levels are too hard,
where players stop playing, and whether coins and hints are balanced), the App sends usage
information to Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google:
Gameplay events: levels started, won, failed or left, moves, play time,
stars, hints and undos used, tutorial steps, in-game coins, hints and lives earned or spent,
shop visits, which ads were offered or watched, and whether a purchase succeeded.
Device and app information: device model, operating system and app
version, language, approximate location derived from your IP address (country or region),
and a random app-instance identifier created when the App is installed.
This information is not tied to your name, email or Apple ID, and we do not use it to identify
you. It is used for analytics only, unless you allow tracking on iPhone or iPad (section 3).
Deleting the App resets the app-instance identifier. Google processes this data as our service
provider; see Privacy and Security in Firebase.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob, iPhone and iPad only)
On iPhone and iPad the App shows ads served by Google AdMob: optional rewarded
videos (for example an extra resting basket or a free hint) and occasional ads between levels.
The Apple TV version shows no ads.
App Tracking Transparency. After the tutorial, the App asks for your
permission to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites.
If you allow it, Google may use your device’s advertising
identifier (IDFA) to show ads that better match your interests and to measure them,
and Google may also use the game analytics in section 2 for ad measurement and
personalization.
If you ask the App not to track, the advertising identifier is not
available, ads are less personalized, and game analytics is not used for advertising.
The game works exactly the same either way.
You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking
on your device.
Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom,
Switzerland and some U.S. states), the App first asks for your advertising consent through
Google’s User Messaging Platform. You can change these choices at any time from
Settings → Ad privacy options inside the App.
The Apple TV version never asks for tracking permission and its analytics are never used
for advertising.
4. In-app purchases
The optional “Remove Ads” purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We never receive
your payment details. The App only receives confirmation from Apple that the purchase is valid.
Whether a purchase was completed, cancelled or failed is recorded in game analytics (section 2),
without any payment details.
5. Children
MeowSort is a family-friendly puzzle game rated 4+. It is not directed specifically at children
under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are restricted
to content suitable for all ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe the App holds personal
information about your child, contact us and we will help remove it.
6. Data security and retention
We do not run our own servers for the App. Game analytics is stored by Google for up to
14 months and then deleted automatically; reports we keep contain only totals, not individual
players. Advertising data is handled by Google under its own retention policies. iCloud data
stays in your iCloud account until you remove it.
Change advertising consent: Settings → Ad privacy options in the App (where shown).
Reset analytics: deleting the App resets its app-instance identifier.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal
information about you, or to object to its processing. Email us and we will help, including
with requests about data Google processes for us.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. The current version will always be posted at
this address, with the effective date shown above. Significant changes will also be noted in the
App’s release notes.
